I doubt you're bothered, but if you want my Vol.3, you can have it. It's black on red; think I got it by mail order from a list that I picked up in Camden in the early '90s. They used to send out a booklet of a list every few months.

No thanks, they're all rubbish anyway and all of the volumes are meaningless.
I think I will have thrown my missing ones in the bin as that's all they're worth nowadays.

Yes, this is EXACTLY what I've got.  I imagine the side break is straight after the unlisted Catholic Day and that Side two starts with the repeat of Zerox (followed by the other 5 repeats and Twndish).  I gather yours also comes from Camden and has a black/red cover - does it have a pic on the front of 1981 Adam with the caption: "The Ant: Dog Eat God"?  If so, we have the exact same edition!

Your Volume 2 is actually the first nine tracks of the Volume 3 which Mick Mercer's correspondent in 1980, Asterisk and myself all have (although Mick's copy did not have the repeat tracks and Twnidish).

Your "Volume 4" is identical to my "Volume 4" which also has the Parisians x3/Lady rough mixes like yours - in other words the REAL Volume 2 as opposed to your "volume 2") but starting with Whip and working its way back round the FoN.  (Does yours also have the Radio 1 Mike Read interview tagged on the end by any chance?  If so, our two "Volume 4"s are totally identical!)

Either Day I Met God and Boil In the Bag Man were added in as extras for the supposed Volume 4 we've both got or else more likely either Mick Mercer's correspondent's copy had them missing or unlisted or Mercer himself forgot to type them in.  No chance is there that Mick still has his original reference materials for the Panache Ants Special after 30 years?

Whichever way, the so-called Volume 4 is still just a glorified rework of the REAL Volume 2 and so I stick to my guns that there were only originally 3 basic compilation volumes.

    The DECCA audition tapes

Which, of course were nothing of the sort - they were just regular Decca Sessions tracks playing slowly in horrible sound quality.

(Clearly however, the bootlegger had a passing familiarity with bootlegged Beatles demos)
