The date of release on this has been bugging me, Monk:
    http://www.adam-ant.net/stand.html

Surely it was released the last week in April, not March. It went straight in at No.1 in May; that would have been after a week of release, not a month.

I still don't buy it, Monk. That was printed in advance. Perhaps the actual release date was delayed.

So Stand & Deliver went to #1 as soon as it was released in May 1981?

I always thought that it was odd, but haven't got round to checking it.

Yep. It went straight in at #1 in the week of release, going silver on the first day, apparently.

I remember it from the time. I remember listening to the chart rundown being absolutely gutted as it got to the top five that "S&D" hadn't charted, only to find it was at No.1. Happy day!

It went to no 1 on 9th May so a 25th March release date would mean it took two weeks and didn't chart at all on its first week. Seems very unlikely given the band's popularity at the time.

Count again, my friend. You seem to have forgotten April exists.

Er, yes... I thought that April was a later invention to, er...look - a bear! (Runs away while they're distracted.)

Anyway, that makes it even more unbelievebale. The Antmusic greatest hits CD has a May release.

My two discs are almost the same. The only difference is this the word 'and' is in a differnet place.
